<cat>editing</cat> <title>Bugs And Requests</title> # Info This page is used to report bugs and make requests. Use it as discussion on MediaWiki-like wikis, separate your thread with `*newline*---*newline*`. Always sign your replies with your Facepunch nickname. Also include your Operating System name and Web Browser if you are reporting a bug to ensure it does not go overlooked! ``` Nick: > Text ``` --- --- ## Request: s&box Categories NotGaylien: > just a couple i think make sense > * Animgraph Category - There is alot to know about this stuff with no place to put it > * Extra Tools - for things like the inspector, postprocessing editor and such, so we have a place to put them --- ## Request: Moderation Trojaner: > Get some trusted volunteers as mods for the wiki so they can get rid of pages like "HowToGetAKey" quickly and lock pages that are too heated. Ban obvious trolls like roblox34. --- ## Request: Check page version on update Tripperful: > When you edit and save a page, another person might be in the process of editing this same page. When they are done they will rollback the changes that you made by pushing an older version of the page with their changes. > It would make sense to include the version of the page you're trying to edit (a counter of some sort) in the request and error if it doesn't match the last version, forcing the user to make an edit based on the last saved version of the page. --- ## Request: Create a dedicated requests / bugs system Repaler: > A dedicated requests / bugs system (similar to that on github) would allow the raiser of the issue to be notified when it has been fixed, and will allow you at Facepunch to delegate people to deal with the raised issue and communicate with the original poster, as well as highlight any existing posts that have been created to stop people from posting the same issue over-and-over. Also, it will stop keyboard warriors from getting the markup wrong and messing it up. --- ## Request: Add back in TAB to search Repaler: > Upon moving forums, the press Tab to search in the chrome browser hasn't been implemented. --- ## Bug: <appendedenums> wasn't implemented Spar: > `<appendedenums>` exists on [this page](https://wiki.facepunch.com/gmod/Enums/BUTTON_CODE) but still confuses new devs because enums aren't actually appended. --- ## Request: Make realm icons have a tooltip with the realm it represent and the link to the realms page Spar: > [Realms page](https://wiki.facepunch.com/gmod/States). New devs don't know what these icons near each function are because wiki doesn't give hints. --- ## Request: Make ability to create PageList depending on the content of the page Spar: > Some pages should be mentioned on specific page but they currently you can't create a list of all pages depending on the content of the page. --- ## Request: Make if search has one result you can go to this page by hitting enter Spar: > If you search for a page and you typed exactly its name you still have to move your mouse and click the page to open it. Make it open by hitting enter. --- ## Request: Make Random page button Spar: > Random page is useful to test your knowledge or find new stuff. Suggested icons: `mdi-dice-5-outline` or `mdi-dice-multiple-outline`. --- ## Bug: <code> misses lots of Lua syntax Spar: > `<code>` tag doesn't highlight `...`, `not`, `or`, `[`, `]`, `{`, `}`, `||`, `&&`, `*`, `/`, `^`, `%`, `#` and numbers. --- ## Bug: Underscore (_) in titles doesn't work properly on GMod's wiki Rubat: > Example page: https://wiki.facepunch.com/gmod/Custom_Entity_Inputs_And_Outputs > Page titles are entity classnames, they do not display the _ characters properly in them, this is due to the font used - Heebo > Tested on Chrome --- ## Bug: Navigating back (browser back) to editor will not update the syntax highlighting Rubat: > Essentially title. The text area will contain the saved text changes, but the syntax highlighter will contain the page's unedited text instead. > Tested on Chrome --- ## Bug: Re-sizing the window can make text in page editor 'ghost' ## Request: Allow us to make categories Repaler: > When resizing my Chrome window, the text will stack on top of each other like so: <upload src="768e6/8d7fa620bfa3245.png" size="44189" name="image.png" /> > It seems to be fine when I use the shortcut: Win + Left arrow, but when re-sizing it using a mouse and/or snapping it to an edge it will ghost as seen in the picture. --- ## Request: Allow us to make categories TomatoSoup: > Either permit us to make Categories manually or upgrade the wiki so that we can put one page under multiple cateogires, so we can get pages like [Predicted Hooks](https://wiki.facepunch.com/gmod/Predicted_Hooks) back. --- ## Request: Implement a basic template page for Rust Wiki. TheHyoid: > With Rust having a lot of items and various craftable things within the game, there is a lot of information to be displayed in tables etc. However, there is no set standard for displaying this information on the Rust Wiki and I have seen it done several different ways. I think it would be beneficial to include an unlisted page with a template for contributors to follow. --- ## Bug and or Request: I can't edit my profile here, because character " - " is disallowed in display names :( karl-police: > On this page https://auth.facepunch.com/ the page was changed, and it doesn't allow ``-`` in display names anymore. And I wanna keep the ``-`` it is literally in my current display name and harmless. But because of that I can't update my avatar anymore and that makes me sad. It has been turned into something pixelated, this feels like my profile picture was personally attacked. Can this please get fixed? :) **System:** Windows 10 64-Bit **Web Browser:** Google Chrome Version 90.0.4430.93 --- ## Bug: "Ghost Characters" karl-police: **Extension of:** https://wiki.facepunch.com/wiki/Bugs_And_Requests#bugresizingthewindowcanmaketextinpageeditorghost > I have no clue why but it looks like this, and I didn't resize the window: > ![](https://files.facepunch.com/wiki/files/1a832/8d90bf1818bffe5.png) > It messes up the editing. **System:** Windows 10 64-Bit **Web Browser:** Google Chrome Version 90.0.4430.93 --- ## Request: Own Templates? karl-police: > Own Templates like in MediaWiki? --- ## Bug: Can't write # at the END of headers # karl-police: I can't write # at the end of headers. ```## Bug: Can't write # at the END of headers #``` **System:** Windows 10 64-Bit **Web Browser:** Google Chrome Version 90.0.4430.93 --- ## Bug: Linking to another wiki doesn't change the page's styling or sidebar Tom.bat: > Clicking a link that references another wiki (eg: you're in wiki help, link references the rust wiki) will open the page but under the current wiki site you are on, so the sidebar won't update and the styling of the page that was opened will be the styling of the wiki you were on before. > Examples of this can be seen here: > [About This Wiki page](https://wiki.facepunch.com/wiki/#history) > [Bug report on underscores in page titles](https://wiki.facepunch.com/wiki/Bugs_And_Requests#bugunderscoreintitlesdoesntworkproperlyongmodswiki) > **Web browser:** Chrome Latest --- ## Bug: Can't upload files on Firefox webby: > Dragging files onto the page to try and upload them will result in a error icon on Firefox. Works perfectly fine with chromium browsers (tested on edge) > Example: > https://i.imgur.com/9DnhTaq.mp4 (ignore awful quality) > **Browser:** Latest version of Firefox Developer Edition > **OS:** Windows 10 64-Bit
